Mr. Philip Bertling
Windsor Spring Elementary 2009 Teacher of the Year !
Mr. Bertling is a fifth grade teacher at Windsor Spring Elementary School and originally a native of Solon, Iowa that relocated to Augusta following his wife's, Carolyn Bertling, career in health care administration. Mr. Bertling is a fifth generation graduate of The University of Iowa and follows in the footsteps of his father David Bertling, who also served as an elementary teacher and eventually became a superintendent. He serves as the Science Teacher-In-Residence, and heads the EBIS program through which he helps implement school wide classroom management plans. It is Mr. Bertling's belief that all students can learn and succeed through the dedication and collaboration of teachers and parent(s) working together as a team that never accepts mediocrity, never entertains excuses, and invites self-esteem building challenges that provide the experiences we all need to believe in ourselves.

October's classpage of the month is awarded to
Mrs. Julie Daignault!
Her Pre-kindergarten classpage has five components: schedule, student created resources, student recognition, online resources and announcements. This is a great way for students and parents to know what's happening. Way to go!
